D likes potatoes and peas. So I didn’t have to think twice when I wanted to make a ‘Dry Side Dish’. Turning my kitchen into a lab, I set about with the preparation of my dry version of Aloo Matar. Thankfully D loved it. Yay!!! 🙂

Instructions
  1. Heat a pan with 2 teaspoons of oil.
  2. Add the cumin and fennel seeds.
  3. When they start to splutter, add the asafoetida and stir for a few seconds.
  4. Add the chopped onion and saute till translucent.
  5. Add the ginger garlic pastes and saute for a few minutes.
  6. Add the chilli and turmeric powder and mix well for 1 minute.
  7. Now add the potatoes and peas and mix well along with salt.
  8. Cover and cook, stirring in between, till the potatoes are cooked through.
Recipe Notes

This dish can be served with Rice as well as Chapathi/ Roti.
